Concept Maps

I wasn't in class for the concept map assignment (Happy Rosh Hashana everyone) so I decided to make a concept map on a different topic.  I teach a college readiness course to my 10th graders and I spend a lot of time working with them on the various factors to get into college.  So instead I made a concept map about that - and hopefully I can show this to them at some point!

  1. Nice concept map! I've had my students use linking words on the arrows connecting each node to further enhance their maps. These linking words can also help the concept map flow.

I've also found that concept maps are a great way to use at the beginning of a unit to assess students' prior knowledge. It's also useful (and kinda fun) to return students' initial maps at the end of the unit to show them how much they've learned from beginning to end. They can then use them to help review/study for a test.
